Diff types of IPSec protocols

1. Encapsulation Security Payload(ESP)
Encapsulates the data to be protected; does not provide protection to “outer” header

ESP allows encryption and authenticates the original packets

2. Authentication Header (AH)
Header is imbedded in the data to be protected
AH authenticates the whole packet ( Including the header ) and does not allow encryption
